CANADIAN PACIFIC STEAMSHIPS. RMS "Empress of Britain". [RMS "Empress of Britain" (25,516 tons) was a transatlantic ocean liner built by Fairfield Shipbuilding at Govan on the Clyde (Scotland) for Canadian Pacific Steamship. Was launched on June 22, 1955 by "Queen Elizabeth II" and completed in 1956. After maiden voyage on April 20, 1956. Operated by Canadian Pacific Steamships (1956-1965), Greek Line (1965-1975), Carnival Cruise Lines (1975-1993), Fiesta Marina Cruises (1993-1994), Epirotiki Line (1995-1996), TUI Travel PLC (1997-2003), and Topaz International (as Peace Boat, 2003-2008). Out of service in April 2008, was sold and scrapped in India.]
